We had never heard of John Hyde but as we looked more into the life he lived, he was a diligent servant of the Lord. He was known as "Praying Hyde". John Hyde was a strong follower of God who had a strong burden for the people in India. He was known as a quiet man, but not with God. He had a zeal in his heart that the people of India would come to know the Lord as their personal savior. Because of this zeal, John Hyde would spend a lot of time praying that the people would come see that they needed the Lord. John would countless of hours with God forgetting about sleep and food. He had forgotten the importance of taking care of himself and his body that in the end of his life his heart had failed on him. . In the end of John Hyde's life of 1912, his last words were, "Shout the victory of Jesus Christ".
As Christians we take for granted praying to God in our everyday walk with Him. He tells us to come to him for anything that we have whether it be sickness, or finding a job, or our relationships with friends and family. He wants us to go to Him and tell Him our everyday situations. God doesn't want us to tell him our trials but also to come to him in thankfulness and gratitude. He is always there for us willing to listen to whatever we have to bring to him. He is only a prayer away.
